Wisconsin Conservation Voices is dedicated to a just democracy for every person living in Wisconsin. Through our Voice the Vote program, we are working to build a more just and equitable democracy, responsive to all people and their will to protect Wisconsin. We work with communities to improve access to our democracy, so people who have been traditionally left out of the decision making process – often communities of color – can have their voices heard. Learn more about our Voice the Vote program below.

About our Voice the Vote Program

Voice the Vote focuses on voter registration, education, and get-out-the-vote work in communities of color and with young people. In 2020 we got creative, incorporating music and art and focusing on community relationships to ensure a strong program despite limitations created by the pandemic.

Voice the Vote worked in close partnership with community organizations, businesses, and leaders to register new voters, educate voters about absentee and early voting, and to get-out-the-vote. Those partnerships included neighborhood organizations, service providers like YWCA and The Literacy Network, student programs like the UW-Madison athletic department, and businesses.

Art Makes an Impact

Voice the Vote incorporated art and music into getting out the vote in 2020, partnering with the Milwaukee Repertory Theater and Northwestern Mutual to work with young Milwaukee-area artists to create songs and videos for the campaign. These garnered significant state and national media attention. Watch the videos below.
